On August 11, 2026, Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital, a member of the Hoan My Medical Corporation, held the opening ceremony of its Advanced Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center. The event marks a new stage in the hospital’s strategy of investing in specialized digestive care. It aims to improve screening, diagnosis, and treatment for residents of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta.

Comprehensive Investment in Modern Endoscopy Systems

The Center has 6 endoscopy rooms and can serve about 60–90 patients per day. Its equipment has been invested in as a complete system. The highlight is the new-generation Olympus EVIS X1, which delivers high-resolution 4K imaging and integrates magnifying NBI (Narrow Band Imaging) and TXI (Texture and Color Enhancement Imaging) technologies.

These technologies help physicians clearly observe surface structures, microvascular patterns, and changes in the gastrointestinal mucosa. This contributes to identifying small lesions, precancerous lesions, and early-stage gastrointestinal cancer.

The Center is also equipped with a Pentax endoscopy system integrating OE (Optical Enhancement) and i-scan technologies. These support observation and assessment of lesion characteristics, polyp classification, and greater diagnostic accuracy.

A Closed-Loop Process Focused on Patient Safety

In addition to technology investment, Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital has built a closed-loop endoscopy process with an emphasis on infection control and patient safety.

The process runs from reception, examination, and preparation through the endoscopic procedure to post-procedure monitoring, with every step closely coordinated. After each case, the endoscope is cleaned and reprocessed in an automated closed-loop reprocessing system before being stored in a dedicated cabinet.

All activities are overseen within the quality management system of Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital, which holds ACHSI (Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International) international quality accreditation.

Advanced Endoscopic Techniques

The Center performs diagnostic endoscopy and a range of therapeutic and interventional techniques. These include polypectomy, hemostasis for gastrointestinal bleeding, foreign body removal, and interventions for biliary and pancreatic conditions.

The Center is also developing pediatric endoscopy, sedated (painless) endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and other specialized care services to meet patients’ diverse needs. As a result, residents can access the full care pathway of screening, early detection, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment locally.

Bringing Modern Endoscopy Closer to the Community

The opening of the Advanced Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center further reflects Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital’s approach of investing in facilities, technology, and professional capability together.

Through the Center, the hospital aims to improve the effectiveness of early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. It also aims to provide a safe and convenient care experience for residents of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta.
