Pregnancy and childbirth are not only about the delivery room, but also a long journey of physical and emotional preparation for women. At the March 2026 Antenatal Class organized by Hoan My Sai Gon Hospital, expectant mothers and their families had the opportunity to access practical knowledge – from making informed delivery decisions to postnatal mental health care – key aspects that are increasingly valued in modern motherhood.

MSc. Dr. Ly Ly presented the topic “Cesarean Section: Choosing a Scheduled Date or Waiting for Labor?”

From the Delivery Room to Maternal Mental Well-being

At the program, participants were introduced to essential topics related to childbirth and postnatal mental health. In the session “Cesarean Section: Choosing a Scheduled Date or Waiting for Labor?”, MSc. Dr. Cao Thi Ly Ly from the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department addressed common concerns among expectant mothers when considering cesarean delivery. She emphasized that the choice of delivery method should always be based on medical indications and each patient’s specific condition.

MSc. Specialist Level I Dr. Thu Suong presented the topic “Postpartum Depression – Loving Your Baby Begins with Loving Yourself.”

From another perspective, the session “Postpartum Depression – Loving Your Baby Begins with Loving Yourself”, presented by MSc. Specialist Level I Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Suong from the Neurology Department and the Psychology & Mental Health Unit, opened an honest discussion on the psychological challenges mothers may face after childbirth. The key message highlighted that caring for maternal mental health is not only necessary but also fundamental to a child’s healthy development.

A Space for Connection, Sharing, and Practice

Beyond expert-led sessions, the Antenatal Class provided a supportive environment where expectant mothers could directly engage with specialists in Obstetrics and Mental Health, ask questions, and address common concerns during pregnancy. Guided prenatal yoga and light exercise sessions also offered hands-on experiences, helping mothers maintain physical fitness and a positive mindset throughout pregnancy.

Participants actively engaged in asking questions and joining class activities.

At the end of the program, participants received gifts and service incentives from the hospital. The March 2026 Antenatal Class was recognized as a meaningful and practical initiative, supporting families as they prepare to welcome a new member.

The hospital and its partners presented many meaningful gifts to the attendees.

Through its regular Antenatal Class series, Hoan My Sai Gon Hospital continues to reinforce its commitment to comprehensive maternal and child healthcare – where medical knowledge, physical care, and emotional support are harmoniously integrated to accompany families throughout the meaningful journey of motherhood.
